Higher domain than competitors lower in page rank

Hi all,
I wouldnt mind some advice, we change the website about a year ago and we had a very strong domain and Moz figures still show this. However, I still loosing out to other lower domains in the page ranking. The pages have been worked on for the keywords, urls etc and yet they still are above us. the main keywords we have been working on are: lime mortar, lime render and lime plaster (limetec.co.uk) if you could point me in the right direction for our site or articles to improve it, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Search engines don't use Moz metrics when ranking web pages.

    There could be a number of reasons your competitors are ranking above you. The most likely and obvious will be they have stronger links pointing to their sites than you.

      I understand that Moz doesn't have a 100% understand the ranking of search engines, but it does give a perspective on what other are doing. I've been building links recently, high domain, but what would be the lead time of moving on up, as they say?

        Impossible to say.

        All that can be said is if you are building strong relevant links - keep doing what you are doing.

    As DA is not a metric used by the search engines, so it can not and does not influence the rankings.
