I've learnt something very interesting- I'm starting to rank for
a the term Google, all I did was publish an
article on my site about it, it is very well written so I assume
Google has picked up it's an "Authority article".

Now I've just done is create an infographic using Piktochart, and then exported it as a
PDF. I then inserted a link in the PDF using PDFescape - Free PDF Editor & Free PDF Form Filler
and I'm going to be uploading them to various document sharing sites-
Scribed has very high authority from Google I think the links are Dofollow- though I'm not sure- can anyone confirm this?

So I've compiled a list of similar high PR sites.which I'll upload the
same PDF too. Does anyone else have experience of doing this?

So at what position are you for that keyword and whats the monthly searches for it. Also yes Infographics does plays a good role in grabbing links from respective sites and social media promotion.

You should definitely go for it. It will surely give good boost to you.

Google will convert the PDFs to plain text like an HTML page, you can verify that by browsing the PDF cache (once it's cached).

Forget the PDF sharing sites, waste of time because the backlink page URL needs to have it's own followed backlink profile pointing directly at the backlink URL which will never happen on its own (organic links).

Last time I checked, Scribd does use dofollow links, so you can benefit from that as a backlink source. Scribd documents will get indexed and can help your traffic and branding.

That's what I read too, hence why I was confused at one of the previous posts!

I've been creating high quality images and then converting them to PDFs and putting them onto Scribed and other places, it does appear to have had a benefit to my rankings!
