So i finally bit the bullet and bought a majestic account.

I've been going by ahrefs UR rating and DR this entire time.

and now that i use majestic i am finding a lot of pages i thought would be a good place to get a backlink actually are not.

I was looking at a site with a DR of 77 and i thought "wow this got some authority!" but then i looked at where my competitors backlink was placed and i ran it through majestic to find out it has a trust flow of 0.

so high DR metrics but that particular page has 0 TF. getting a link from this place will give me 0 power/page juice correct?

a backlink only helps if it has trust flow on that particular page correct?

Did you check both www and non-www versions? One may have TF and the other may not. Personally, I would hold TF/CF to a higher standard than DR, but it could still be worth investigating further. Did you look at the backlinks which the site has? Does it seam to have quality backlinks?

A great place to get a link from is a website and page that is relevant to your website. If you can honestly answer "yes" to the question, "would people that use this website be good customers for me?" you have found a great place to get a link from.

Stop worrying about nonsense like Domain Authority and Trust Flow. They are totally invented numbers that mean something in some niches and are worthless in others. Get links from sites that can send you business. Get enough of those, and the rankings will follow!

      Totally agree.

If the page is relevant to your page, it's not a spammy piece of crap, and the links pointing to the page are fairly clean, you should want a link from it. Don't worry about what Ahrefs or Majestic think of it. They are not search engines.

Google does not use any of those metrics to judge the value of the link.
