Help. website copies my subject ideas and ranks better

I need help. I am an authority on my subject and write high quality content and there is a website that is stalking me. Basically, is following me perhaps on Pinterest or Facebook and writes on my same exact topics but changes words around, and writes them longer.

I know it can be a coincidence, but I write on topics that aren't known by the average Joe, and I find it close to impossible that the owner of this website stumbles on the same exact topics over and over.

Anyhow, what bothers me is that this website beats me in SEO big time, like a page ahead at times, even though mine are written prior. Looks like Google has no pity over me. I need help, what do I do? How does this website do this? I mean it beats even websites that have been online for years and tada, always ends up on first page.

The only difference between my articles and his/hers is that I often quote my references, and where I get my pictures from and this website does not. The website also uses better pictures, but not sure if Google gives a crap about that. And then makes the articles longer adding really more "fluff" than facts.

So if I want to win over this competitor, and get what I deserve from Google, what do I need to do? Re-write them longer? Add better pictures?
My wordpress SEO says my SEO is fine and gives me the green light. I still don't get it, and I am so frustrated that this website is ruining my rankings.

Helppp!

  • I am assuming you are very well accustomed to SEO.
First have you tried disabling right click plugin or DMCA takedown method?
If not, then try hiring a professional Reputation Management Services, they will do negative SEO for your website stalker and I believe that this would help you getting ahead the copycats. I can understand what you must be going through when someone copies your content and ranks ahead of you, google does not understand who has copied from where.

Your website stalker is using widely available article rewriting/paraphrasing tool to modify your unique article and then adding some of his own words. Your job is to get ahead of him.

Continue writing unique content, add creative infographics, try getting it published on Search Engine Journal/Watch/Land or Social Media Today/Weekly/Examiner, We are Social Media, etc popular sites as these have very high moderation policy and only accept unique content but once published the do-follow or no-follow links you get will definitely rank your website on the google's first page 100%.
Its a long & time consuming process but will yield best results.

Your green light is only confusing you into believing you're doing SEO.

What's happening is the competition has followed backlinks and you don't have followed backlinks.

No offense but your green light comment in OP proves you have no idea about SEO.

Fall back, regroup and learn about followed backlinks.

The problem with the internet is there's no telling who was the original and who copied. I suggest if you are not really doing great with SEO, get an expert who could help you with your rankings and teach it to you as well, while you maintain the quality of your posts.

  • Check out your competition, you could monitor their search ranking through several SEO tools. Determine how they are doing this, if you can't beat them, copy their strategy Identify the website and make sure that your content is copied, if you can prove it and contact the owner by using Google's content removal form. That should at least warn them on how further you can go.

Many viral content writers do this. They use articles from niche websites, re-write articles and post on their websites. You can add a Copyright button to your posts. However,if you have solid proof that their website has articles similar to yours in a sequence, then you can post somewhere about their website following unethical blogging methods.

Thank you all for the replies. Sorry for my rant, but my question now is: is there anything I can do?

Sometimes I contact them and ask them if as a courtesy they could at least place a link to my article as a reference and some times some comply, but most of these thieves are all protected by companies that do not provide their contact information and their websites of course have no way to contact them. Finding who hosts them can also be a challenge too!

Google DMCA only seem to do something if the articles are copied word by word. Hosting companies are also of the same belief. It just seems like unless the articles are copied or clearly spun, nobody does anything to protect your creativity, your personal thoughts and hard work and research.

So am I destined to become a "source" of credible information, a volcano of ideas for just others to take advantage of? Am I destined to be one to do hard research just for others? I am sick of this, and honestly, it's taking away the whole pleasure of writing and sharing with my fans. I already deactivated some social media because it seems that a percentage of my followers are just thieves waiting for my next article to find a topic to write about!

I would say get over it. The world is full of very few original ideas.

Look at McDonald's. They came up with the idea for fast food. Now how many fast food joints are out there? They are still doing just fine though.

You think Amazon was the first website to sell products online?

Jane Fonda pretty much invented the home workout video. How many followed?

Either get over it and figure out a way to do it better or keep whining about it. Up to you.
