Forgive me for starting this thread if a similar one already exist and guide me to one in case there is already one.

I am new here and been watching the forum for sometime. Wanted to post this important question so just signed up for it so this is my first post.

I want to know if a residual income can be made from Adsense ads being displayed on your sites/blogs?

I have a few sites/blogs/pages. I am expected to get 1500-2500 page impressions/day in a few days time. I display Adsense ads on them. Just wanted to know if it is a good way of erning online or should I build a niche that will make me money by selling stuff. Hope I made myself clear.

  • Web Warrior,

adsense can be a great source of revenue and with enough sites or blogs or some very large ones you can bet your going to be making some money.

Alot depends on the niche and source of your traffic. Are you paying for traffic or do you have some established sites already?.

    • My traffic is mainly from search engines, some of the traffic comes from articles I have submitted to different places like EZA. My niche is information/encyclopedia. Adsense hasn't worked for me till now maybe because traffic to my sites isn't that high. I wanted to know if Adsense has really worked for anyone so I continue to try and concentrate on getting more traffic instead of looking for an Adsense alternative.

      What will you suggest?
  • Hi Web Warrior

Yes, it is possible to make a residual income with Adsense. As to whether that is the best option for your site - it depends on many factors; such as the niche, the type of site, the type of customers/visitors etc.

You'll find plenty of food for thought here: Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum

    Good luck

  • You can certainly make money with AdSense, but the amount depends on (1) the amount of traffic you get, (2) how many of those people click on ads and (3) the value of the clicks.

Where is the traffic going to come from? Lots of social media traffic is notoriously unlikely to click on ads.

    • I figured that out long back when I got like 15000 visitors from SU in a weeks time.

Traffic is from search engines, sites are information related and info in a vast number of topics so CPC varies a lot. What do you say, Adsense or something else?

  • Depending on the keyword, you can make great money with adsense. Try to find keywords that pay $1-3 dollars per click instead of keywords that pay .10-.30 cents.
  • What Charles Montgomery said is exactly right. Use the AdWords keyword research tool to find the higher paying keywords. That way, even if you only get ten clicks a day, you're making some nice filler income.

The nice thing about AdSense is that once you get it going, it's rock-steady. You can count on it, and you don't really need to do much to keep it flowing. The bad thing is that it's hard to get going, at least it was for me.

If you're getting 1,000 unique visitors a day, you should be able to make some decent money.

    • Same here, Adsense doesn't seem to be working for me. I have a combination of high and low paying keywords. My pages on SEO pay me more than 1$ on the average. I think I should look for an alternative that will do good for info related pages.
  • Great thread and story telling from awhile back! Gotta dig through the warrior archive treasure chest for those hidden threads that are filled with all kinds of Golden nuggets...
