There is no need to use any tool. just search in google use the following

allintitle:"keyword" if you get less numbers obviously it would be less a competitive keyword.

While you are correct sherone...I think a tool that gives you quick access with minimal looking.

As in you type a broad keyword: diet tips

And click submit and it give you a long tail keyword list

i agree, market samurai works great. Doing allintitle/allinkeyword... will give you the competitive aspect of the keyword, but you must know the monthly volume to analyse if it's a good keyword to focus on

I really didn't like market samauri, not a bad product just too bulky for me. I'm partial to another tool that I think works better.

Just one point: the number of pages indexed by Google for a keyword phrase doesn't really indicate what your competition is for that keyword phrase. I've seen keyword phrases with 10,000,000 pages indexed that have very little competition, and I've seen keyword phrases with 18,000 pages indexed that have MASSIVE competition.

  • Doesn't matter how quick you find them. Do you know what to do with them. And just because you find a phrase with low competition can you make money from it.

I need traffic, I need low competition keyword phrases, I need... see it all the time.

What you need is to create a business plan and work on it.

In any given day I will shoot for 2 new articles based on profitable keyword phrases. If I spend an hour or 5 minutes to find the phrase it doesn't matter. It only matters that the phrase I find can be properly monetized.

So slow down and figure out what you are doing first.

You don't need a tool other than your brain to find the keyword phrases. Google gives you everything you need for free. You just need to know what to look for and how to evaluate it.

There are no shortcuts... but there are some good software tools.

Google will give you what you need for free... but I second using Market Samurai if you value your TIME. You can do pretty much all the kw research elements for free but MS will do it all in one go very quickly.

Market Samurai is well worth it. I've been using the trial myself.

Even though I still use Google (habits), Market Samurai saves me time. I'm sure I'd save more time if I used it for more of "the process."

But really, too many people just look at # of pages as a determining factor for "competition." You've got to specifically look at what you're up against. Makes all the difference in the world.

Oh, and learning to have a "feel" for things helps too.

And all of this come from just doing something (even tackling a beyond-hard set of KWPs).

Start somewhere and drill down from there.
