Is it possible to revive my 10 year old parenting site?

Here is the site (I hope it's okay to put the url in the post)
www.happymommynews.com and there is a blog here but you'll see that I did paid posting to it for a while so not all posts are parenting-ish www.happymommynews.com/HappyMommyThoughts

I had a lot of fun with this site when I first created it and hoped to make money selling subscriptions to the items you'll see on the main page. When I realized that wasn't working I made them free and put adsense on it.

Now I'm wondering if I can leave those as free and make some money with Adsense by reviving the site. I'll post real, helpful content (my kids are teens now and I have a lot to share). Thinking I could make each of the free subscriptions their own page and move the blog to the main page and keep the posts frequent.

But will any of that work with an old site? Does Google "hate" it now that it's been abandoned for a few years?

Looking for advice on whether it can be revived and, if so, how I should go about that.
Also wondering if you think the changes I noted above can work.

Thanks in advance.

Google does not care how dormant your site has been. It's a "here and now" search engine that values good content and links over anything else.Go for it!

You may want to sort out the tens of thousands of ping backs on your website. Your site has been absolutely bombarded by bots.

I noticed that too. Not sure how to get rid of all of them but I'll google it.
      Thanks

No such thing as a dormant website, if it's been live for 10 years.
Updates are not needed if info is relevant to searcher.

Obviously one needs to start doing more to get it out there.

However, your "signup to view" is a killer.

Make all content available without joining. You will get much more juice doing that.

      I agree.
And many bloggers use the technique of repurposing content from their older posts. It can be very effective.

You have a solid domain with a great age to it and a built site behind it. You'll need new content, updated once a month at least for the next several months (once a week would be better) to get a slow visitor rate coming in. If you want to get more visitors quickly, you'll need to get your site ranked higher, faster. I just released the newest version of my software that works specifically for what you are trying to accomplish, check it out and use some of the techniques described on the site if you aren't interested in the software itself!

OP has zero backlinks so I have no idea what they're trying to revive.

    Was it ever alive?

You'll need to start making daily new posts with unique content, but it's possible to revive any website as long as it's unique.

I think Google is fair to all. Good content and good social shares will be the best way to revive any sites. Remember to do not cheat!

Google "repuposing content" or "how to repurpose content" and I think you will find even new ideas as to what to do with your old site.

Yes of course all you need is to start adding content with the proper keywords, rank it up and earn from adsense.

That's a very old domain which means established to the SEs. One old SEO trick is to buy old domains just expired revive them and link back to your present site. YOU ARE the old domain so use it.

The age of a domain doesn't rank pages.

Established followed backlink profiles are what rank pages which isn't happening in this thread considering OP doesn't have any links let alone any followed links.

So... the domain is useless from an SEO POV.

        You are correct sir,

You've just reminded me of the rest of that old trick.

        My apologies,

In fairness, I used to have links coming in and they brought most of my traffic. But with the site being dormant for so long and me not actively sending traffic to others, it just ended. This was my very first site and i didn't know about "getting backlinks" I was just supporting and linking to friends who were doing the same in return.

I just need a strategy now so I can set things up better and bring some traffic in

It does show me as having 254 backlinks so some do still exist.

You need to build backlinks to your website. Some backlink building tactics for your site:
    1.Blog outreach (Guest posting)
2.Video backlinks from sites like YouTube, Vimeo
    3. Infographic design and distribution
You can outsource it at market place. It will get your website ranked on the top.
