Page or Post? which wordpress site is best for ranking?

HI, Everyone,

I have build many wordpress websites but all of them was regular blog style.

That is why regular blogging or posting is essential. So, I decided my new site will
contain only pages. Recently I found websites containing just five or six pages are
ranking well in Google than a huge blog. Please guide me should I go with only page website so I don't have to post regularly and still get good ranking?

    Posting regularly helps but if you want to rank for highly competitve keywords you still need backlinks. Backlinks are still the #1 ranking signal according to Google.

    I have a 400 page authority blog and 98% of my pages are in the form of "posts" and the other 2% are "pages" like "About Me" and "Contact Us."

    "Posts" are pages also. They just have a different name. I'm thinking that maybe the website with the "pages" only may have better on-page SEO the reason it's ranking better? Google loves fresh content and backlinks for keywords, as tyronne78 stated.

      Totally false. A page especially nowadays with several page builder plugins can have anything on them you want.

      It all comes down to usage

      If the site is going to be static and have only a few change in content then Pages are better and more stable. They won't roll off the front page.

      Not every Wordpress site has to be a blog. Many are not.

    A page is a foundational and static part of your website. The content should be comprehensive. It could be a sales letter, "About Us", a comprehensive look at your topic, a help desk, etc. A page is probably going to be a part of your site navigation - it has a permanent place in your menu.

    A post is an update. A latest thought. Used somewhat like a Twitter post or Facebook post. It's a stream.

    Contrary to old-wives tales posting random crap 30 times per day does not make Google think you're more relevant. A high quality site consisting of 5 pages with rock-star content is far more valuable than a 500 page site consisting of fluffed up crap and $1.32 articles.

    Study Google's search listings and most of the top ranking "pages" are in-depth, comprehensive and likely 3-4 years old with links to them because of their quality and usefulness.

    In most cases a page is going to be more valuable than a post depending on how you're using them.

    In my opinion they both would have same impact over search engine rankings. But Post have more advantages over posts like you cant add star rating over the page while that is possible over posts and everyone knows that ratings increases CTR

    I prefer post than page. But, both page and post are the same. You can rank for both.

    Post is for blog sites while page is for the website. Both are possible to rank in the search results but depending not only on the backlinks as well as the engagement of the content.

    I don't like Wordpress for SEO or anything else it's too limiting. I use forums and add the tools I need and a front page.

      Sorry but that looks awful. It severely cuts down on your conversions the way it is setup. Forums are even more limited in layout and design than WP

      but I do think people are too in love with WP

    From my experience, it doesn't really matter whether it is a post or a page. The key is to get as many as quality backlinks pointing to it and grow it consistently. Also make sure you have done the basic on-page optimization on your page/post that you wish to optimize.

    A post and a page have the same exact opportunity for ranking. They are just URLs with content on them and, hopefully, backlinks. It doesn't matter at all which is used as far as SEO is concerned.
