Howdy all warriors. I have bought a few back links. To be specific text links on websites all ranking higher than mine and all websites relatively related to my niche. I am pushing extremely hard to get those links to show as back links in my google webmaster tools. Yet it seems like it is a pipe dream.

So to boil down to the bed rock of my question, is text links good back links?

Any thoughts on the subject from warriors with experience would be much appreciated.

The search engine robot algorithm math hypocrisy. We must write from human thoughts and Google will process that thoughts with a robot programmed by a calculus wizzard. Maybe we must write some maths articles.

It depends on which website/domain the text link is on.

If the text link is on the high authority site, your site will significantly benefited from it. If your text link is on a site which is not a spammy site but not an authority site either, the backlink won't do any harm to your site but the benefit won't be very significant.

As a rule of thumb, you should have various type of backlinks pointing to your site:

    1) URL backlinks (naked link) eg http://www.yourwebsite.com
    2) Keyword Anchor - backlinks with your primary, secondary, or other main keywords that you optimized for your site
    3) Generic Anchor - backlinks with generic text such as "click here", "check this out", etc
    4) Long tail Anchors - such as "how to get the top ranking in the shortest time possible", etc.

    Yes, jinmin is absolutely right.
Backlinks and its type totally depends upon the worth of resources, where you are going to build links.

Text site links are quite good actually, but your links should be relevant and strong. But you should make sure from site you're linking has good metrics of DA, PA, PR etc. Text links can help you to get strong ranking.

Yes text links are really good backlinks if used in right away.
Just try not to overdo it else it can get you penalized also. Keep a close eye on your backlink profile and anchor text ratio.

And about the appearing of links in webmaster tools they will appear soon. No need to worry about them.

I suppose you are right. I should have given this thread different context.

Could still work if the link is of high quality... text links have definitely diminished in impact now compared to before though

In general, compared to image back links, text back links is way better. It just depends on how it is being used. However, paid links are not exactly something Google will be happy about, so that being said i hope you get the back links you need.

You mentioned that the website where you bought you back links from are all related to your site and are ranking, they should be able to bring back certain results but not so much. Personally, I would suggest that you get a VA who can do your back links manually.

  • So long as the websites you have back links are all high ranking whether known through other SEO tools and then you made use of different formats as previously provided in one of the comments above as needed, I think you should not be worried.

Sometimes, when you see "old techniques" working nowadays, maybe the reason they are ranking is not that method, reason it´s site authority and aged domains.

If your buying links are from the good authority sites and also your niche based then it's worth to your website ranking for sure!

Text links could still give you the results that you require, it just depends on how you use them. I often go the longer route, by having to search for the actual blog posts and commenting on them giving utmost value to be approved. Or guest posting as a subject matter expert on a high ranking website where my post will surely be valuable.

Truthfully, text links still work, however, you have to include other SEO tools for your campaign to prosper. Google has already developed so many tools and algorithms to determine the ranking of each pages and we have struggled to remain relevant. Explore your other options and diversify.

Just wanted to give some feedback. Finally google is showing some backlinks. Google duh you're slow !! It however showing not quite the same links as Majestic and Alexa. HOW nice would it have been if Google could ad just a little bit more speed to their genius algorithm ??

I Loaded some screenshots. Alexa, Google, Page Rank Checker.

So all in all I guess I just need some patients. It will all come together in the long run.

This should be pretty apparent based on the examples I gave you above, but links within content, also known as contextual links, are the most powerful.
Stand alone links can be effective, but are much sketchier and are weak in comparison to contextual links
