Hello mates.

As you may know recently the last google update (ie penguin 4.0 arrived). As I know this means that Penguin goes real-time to catch spammy backlinks.

My question is does this also mean that google will rank your website in real time as well when you generate good backlinks to the website? Or there is nothing related to this?
Normally it takes weeks and/or months to see your website ranks after you generate backlinks to it, so any change after this Penguin Update?

Thank you.

Nothing has changed and Google isn't ranking pages based on real time. Well, unless you consider real time to be waiting for Google to find links which could be hours/days/months...

Google rolled out penguin 4.0 in september last week with few updates and they made it as officially a core algorithm in Google search ranking factors.
It was not effected the entire website like old updates but punished the poor back links and specific web pages for specific keywords. So we can say compare to old version it is much real time and granular. Webmasters have a chance to work on it and bring back their progress into SERPs.

No, i have been waiting to see the real time effect of Penguin 4.0. One of our website was punished and thrown back. We are waiting for the real time progress but there is no such action found from Google search.

It's really great if it works on real time and granular.

No its not real time when you build the backlinks its when they index it out. Besides I havent seen much effects in ranking even after sending quality links it takes about 4-7 days to show effects for me.

The Penguin algorithm filter is about detecting bad links and ignoring them. It has nothing at all to do with detecting good links and boosting web pages.

The 'real-time' feature implies that the changes will simply take affect much faster as opposed to the past updates. This means that you can recover from a penalty a bit easier now - the changes you make will be visible much faster (will take effect once a page is re-crawled). The other positive thing is that the penalties will be more granular and will target specific pages. This should also make it easier to both detect the penalty and recover from it.

Haven`t experienced any effect from the update yet, however, the good idea would be to track any dramatic changes in rankings/organic traffic stats of individual pages of your website.
