A couple of days ago I was asking whether or not any more action was required after putting backlinks onto various sites (as in Angela's WSO), because I have done approximately 30 to 40 and when I check my article URL using Backlink Watch or Yahoo Site Explorer, they are saying that there are no backlinks. It was recommended that I ping my profile page for each site in order for Google to index them.
Question about pinging backlinks

A couple of days ago I was asking whether or not any more action was required after putting backlinks onto various sites (as in Angela's WSO), because I have done approximately 30 to 40 and when I check my article URL using Backlink Watch or Yahoo Site Explorer, they are saying that there are no backlinks.
It was recommended that I ping my profile page for each site in order for Google to index them.
I appologise if this is a dumb question, but what I'd like to know is: Exactly which page on the site would be the one to ping. Is it the page where you create your profile that you put your anchor text links in, or is it the page wher you can view your profile after you have put the links and other information in? In other words, does Google need to see the HTML version, or the link displaying your keyword after you have done it, or doesn't it matter either way?
If it needs to be the one that actually displays the link, this could be a problem on a few sites, because the only way to view yor link on some of them is by going to the forum and posting a thread.
Thanks
