Anyone tried Adsense in other languages, translated sites?
- SEO |
There is surprisingly little mention of Adsense for non-English sites anywhere. It seems to me that a (relatively) easy and inexpensive way to boost your Adsense revenue would be to duplicate sites you already have into other Adsense-supported languages.
I know the auto-translating that Yahoo and others do can be garbage, but I have three thoughts about that:
1. If you are solely focused on Adsense, it might not matter how well your site is translated. In fact, it might even be beneficial to have a lousy translation. Afterall, if your objective is to get Adsense clicks, then you might even be better off that way, as a visitor might be more inclined to click an ad if the page contents read poorly.
2. Having translated a couple of my own products into Spanish and marketed them, I know that it is far easier to rank high on some of the other Google search engines (such as google.es and google.com.mx) - most non-English websites are generally a couple of years behind in terms of their SEO. As such, it would be much easier to rank and pick up a lot of organic traffic. And BTW, there is a HUGE and rapidly growing amount of non-English language traffic!
3. If it IS a viable source of revenue, it would certainly be worth investing a few hundred bucks in a good translation program.
Is there anyone with any non-English Adsense experience that can weigh in?
