Can anyone advise me about what is the best way to get good inbound links?
What is an appropriate way to approach someone who you want to link your website?
What do they usually want in return?
Is there anything else that I need to know?

    It’s time consuming and boring,
For every 100 emails you send out, at least 5 of them should be linking back to you. If you can’t get 5 of them to link back, it means you are doing one of the following things wrong:

    You are emailing non-relevant sites.
    You are emailing your competitors.
There is little to no substance to your website.
Your email copy isn’t compelling enough.

You can get links by contributing content to bloggers. Guest posts on other platforms. Also by submitting articles in article submission websites.

You should be ready to spend some time on it. The methods that are proven to benefit your website - inevitably take time and effort. I`d stick with looking for relevant quest-posting opportunities and topical blogs: the main idea here is that you are not only getting the qualitative link, but you also get a chance to put your website in front of a new audience and cause some buzz. Obviously, you`ll have to think of some valuable content or expertise you can provide in return.

In case you offer some services - review/giveaway opportunities may also be helpful.

Finally, you can always audit backlink profiles of your organic competitors and analyze the sources of their backlinks, and try to pinpoint the websites you might try to reach out to as well.

There are so many services on the market that can help you researching/reaching out or both, just try to find your personal all-in-one tool.

Guest posting is definitely a proven method of getting good backlinks. You create an article on a relevant blog that has a link back to your site - usually in the author bio section. They get a fresh new article that they don't have to write. You get a link. Fair tradeoff!

The best method of getting a LOT of links is finding the sites that are known to link to other sites and create the type of article on your site that is the same type that they link to (i.e. they linked to an article about house training a dog and you create an article about keeping your dog from jumping on people). Outreach is very big task you will have to follow lots of steps to build relationship with the web master so that you could get the link back.
You should follow backlinko's method and read around forums/blogs to get more idea. Make sure if you send an email first then 50% will ignore it and 30% will go for sponsored posts. So its always better to maintain a relationship first so that they cant deny you.
