Nofollow links helps your backlink profile look more genuine. All dofollow links to any site can surely raise red flag. Apart from this, you can get decent referral traffic from you get backlink from high authority site even if the link is nofollow.

Because these reputable websites are aware of the spammers in which they think they can rank only if they spam on do follow link sites.

Webmasters used to give regular links, till people started scamming, and Google invented nofollow.

People who give you nofollow links assume you're going to post something interesting enough that people reading it might want to know more about you. But they don't want to pass their hard-earned reputation to you. After all, they assume but don't know for sure. They do know for sure that people are going to try to scam.

So, nofollow backlinks are not important to SEO but, assuming you do, indeed, post interesting/useful stuff, they're a path from wherever you placed content to your site/your facebook page/your whatever page you want them to go to.

Do not go get nofollow links. Go place useful/interesting comments/content so that people will find out about you and do it without caring what type of link you get.

If your goal is links for SEO, don't bother with nofollow... Did I say that enough times?

Not only are people clueless about that, they are clueless as to why, when, where, and how.

So funny. Google invented nofollow to combat spam and PR manipulation, yet people say to get them!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. The nofollow backlinks, improve only the traffic to your site and does not increase your page rank in search engine.
    2. This is generally a link that does not pass on the SEO benefits of the source site to the blog where the link points to.

Google could not give a rat's behind if you have nofollow links in your "profile" to look natural.

And anyone who says such nonsense is full of BS. Especially the loons above. Avoid these people like the plague, and the snake oil they sell. They are clueless wannabe seo rip off artists.

There's no benefit to a nofollow link. Period.

There is value in some of the programs that make their links nofollow. But it's the value of the program, NOT nofollow.

Twitter is nofollow. The value of twitter is that, well, it's twitter.
Facebook is mostly invisible, nofollow secondary. The value is in facebook. Has nothing to do with nofollow.

Joe Blow's blog with nofollow links....are useless. Not because they are nofollow, but because they are with joe blow.

You people are just so hell-bent on failing.

Yes no follow links can only provide us traffic not worth in the eyes of search engines. But check these Core Benefits of No-Follow BackLinks

    - Getting a nofollow link from any relevant source can directly help you in getting a boost of traffic.
    - Well having a good balance of both nofollow and dofollow backlinks make your site’s link profile look natural.
    - One more benefit/advantage of nofollow backlinks is that its safe. Well I’m calling it safe because you really dont have to worry about nofollow links that points to your site.
    - Nofollow contextual backlinks also helps your site to gain some authority and you also start getting extra referral traffic.

I think there are two benefits of no-follow backlinks. Although it does not pass any link juice but it may be a good source for direct traffic. Secondly, if you only make do-follow backlinks it will give the sense of unnatural backlinking so make the mixture of do-follow and no-follow backlinks.

    1. Improve Website Traffic.
    2. Maintain Link Building Balance.
    3. Improve Website Branding & Authority.

No follow links are not so helpful for generating traffic on a website. It helps to intimate the readers about the website & nothing else. Sometimes it works as a genuine links as Google approves it without checking it. Google violates those links which seems to be spammy & used for marketing purpose only. It is good to some extent.

      Hey, no, you do not.

Not to mention that you every site you'll ever launch will get a bunch of nofollow links without you doing anything besides launching the site.

But, no, you do not need to go get nofollow links to make your link profile look natural.

Nofollow links - although it don't allow Googlebot to crawl our website to collect data but it could bring abundant source of traffic for your site and this is one of Google ranking factors.

No, friend, on both counts. Nofollow links do not pass juice and you get plenty of nofollow links without doing anything, from whois type of sites, for instance.

If anything, Getting nofollow links on purpose increases the ratio beyond what's natural/genuine.

no-follow links do not add any SEO-value to your site. However, they still have their own set of advantages. Firstly, no-follow links make your site look more natural and genuine. Plus, it can motivate you to improve your site since you need to focus on quality to make sure your page will still rank even without the help of links. As a take-away, having a good balance of no-follow and dofollow links can help you boost traffic in the long run.

    Hope this helps
