How Long will it take to get my website to the top of the Google Results?

I have a decent enough level of knowledge and writing ability to guest post on other websites. Will this be worth my time in terms of boosting my ranking?

      I have seen two things over the years happened. Exact match domains that have ranked fast in Google because the keyword used was easy to rank according to the software I use to analyze them... or it was individual pages/posts that was ranking also because it was an easy keyword to rank.

      And I have seen domains that took just a couple of weeks to appear on the first page. I have seen posts that took a similar time or sometime longer depending on the competitiveness.

    My advice, forget trying to rank in Google. You can be in number 1 spot on page 1, then when Google decides to change their algorithm again, you could be blasted into space. Unless you're with the big boys and have lots of money to throw around, I wouldn't touch Google.

    Just advertise your site like crazy everywhere you can. It will be much cheaper that paying to rank in Google.

    Getting Rank on 1st page depends on the competition of the targeted keywords and your current rankings. Of course you can get quality backlinks by your content marketing efforts, but at the same time you need to publish quality content on your website, as updating website on regular basis is important to rank. Also get benefits of other ranking factors, surely the rank will increase gradually.

    It will take somewhere between a few hours and never. I'm strongly leaning towards never.
