I am doing some research today in a niche using Google adwords

I noticed this for adwords stats

Why would there be such a difference in cost for similar keywords for a niche

3,500 search/month 8 ads on page Suggested Bid price .53

52 search/month no ads on page Suggested Bid price 2.09

Any one know why these are priced so much diffferent even thou they have less competition and less searches per month they cost more

    Hi Ed,

Without seeing the actual keyword we can only guess. My first guess would be that the one with lower search volume is more targeted and has more competition.

Sometimes it's just because someone is targeting the root keyword with a high bid on a broad match. Even though you may be bidding on a more targeted long tail phrase, the other guy's bid on the shorter keyword is competing for the same ad position.
