Keyword in URL

I was thinking of include the main keyword in my domain name.

Then I figure maybe I instead would make a brandable domain name and instead create a page with the main keyword.

Or is it more beneficial out of a SEO perspective to have the main keyword directly in the domain name?

Which option has more weight (both with keyword in URL)?

Code:
www.themainkeyword.com
or

Code:
www.brandable.com/themainkeyword
?
#search engine optimization #brandable #domain name #keyword #main keyword #url
  • I would say that they are both equal to a point. Option 2 for me is a "smarter" choice, simply due to the fact of possible keyword redundancy themainkeyword .com/the mainkeyword at some point will probably come into play, or worse yet keyword .com/keyword/keyword. - at some point a page could be flagged as stuffing.
  • Apple.com/iphone-7/

    Or

    iphone-7.com

Which one does the billion dollar company do..

If you're trying to build something your kids will be proud of..and can look back and say wow dad was a fken legend. He built XYZ.com.

Or do you want to hide in your basement with a domain like Longblackdressesforwomen.com

  • depend your strategy. if you want to developing single or authority site.
Single site with main keyword in domain is better but authority site often case 2 is better
  • Brandable Domain and Keyword in the url of a post.
As using a brandable domain chances of getting links from outreach will be more rather than a domain that looks like EMD.
  • Exact match domains used to be SEO gold, now, not so much.

100% go for the focus keyword of the page in the slug of the url. This is much more relevant.
