How Long Before You Start Seeing Clients From SEO?

Hi,

I don't claim to be an advanced internet marketer by any means but my mind has always been drawn more to the paid sources of traffic. I like to see if something has a chance of surviving as a business as fast as possible. Assuming most ideas fail, spending a year on each failed project seems like a dangerous life plan.

So i always steered away from SEO as I figured it just takes so long before you are likely to get any interest at all. But i'm hoping I am wrong.

I know there are a lot of variables but how long do you think it would take, broadly speaking, before you could get a couple of hundred visitors to your site a day via SEO?

Just from experience really how quickly could you get a website based on SEO traffic to start doing a bit of business (not thousands a month but a bit of flow).

I just have no idea of the sort of success/returns that SEO offers over the short/medium term. But love the fact the traffic is probably pretty relevant and can be something that builds

    Yes, it is definitely an impossible question to answer. It is 100% about how well you have optimized your pages for targeted keyword phrases, how competitive those phrases are, the number/quality of backlinks and how many people per day are searching with those phrases. We've had pages rank within hours on the first page that were built around very low competitive phrases and others take a year or more. Of course, most of the time, those incredibly easy to rank for phrases are very low volume search phrases so we need lots of pages optimized around different phrases to drive hundreds of visits from them.
