Buying guest posts on High PR websites?

Hello Warriors,

I see a lot of offers on warriorforum from people selling guest posts on high PR websites such as lifehack.org, elitedaily.com, buzzfeed.com, huffingtonpost.com, etc.

Is purchasing guest posts on these websites an effective and safe way to build backlinks? What are some successful strategies for link-building in this method? Approximately how many guest posts should I purchase to see a significant increase in my rankings and DA?

If you do not recommend this method, what are some better link-building techniques you use?

I am new to SEO, so if there's any advice/tips/knowledge/warnings you can share about this link-building technique please let me know.

Thanks.

Yes those backlinks are good if you get a dofollow as that will help you build as an authority since big websites are linking to you and you will appear like an influential property but make sure many times it not sure that you would see change in rankings due to this links as it depends on the competition of keywords also.

They are weak links. They are on sites where the home page has a high PR, but your link will be posted on a PR 0 page with very little traffic.

And I would not really worry about increasing your DA. DA is not a ranking factor.

So if I did guest posts on cheaper websites with lower PR instead, would they be of the same value as posting on the high PR sites? (Since the page will be PR 0 anyway)

        Basically.

Now if you got a real story on one of those sites that got a lot of attention, the traffic alone might be worth it, but that is not what those sellers are offering. If they were, it would be a hell of a lot more expensive.

As mentioned previously on this thread... Although these websites are high-PR, the actual article itself is published on a PR 0 page. Therefore it would not pass much link juice on to my domain. What is your opinion on this?

You will get much better results if you conduct outreach manually. That will actually get legitimate links and they will stick for a longer period of time.

Please elaborate. Outreach as in, guest post offerings? Press release?

By outreach I mean going to relevant websites, checking them out first and then emailing the webmaster using a personalized email.

That way you are more likely to receive a reply.

You can ask them for many things once you email them:

        1. Free content in return for a linkback
        2. Paid post which they upload to their site
        3. Possibility of running your banner ads on their site for a fee
        4. Getting a footer link from the site

The possibilities are endless but it does take a lot of effort as I am sure you can imagine.

  • Backlinks that you will get these sort of websites really works. They will increase the DA of your website. But it will take time to effect the PR of your website. Because at the time of blog posting, the page where your blog will be posted, will have zero page rank. And that particular page will take time to increase its page rank, after that it gone to make any impact on your website. But this whole case will occur onlly in case if blog posting website has given you “do follow” links.

Does the PR of the guest post page always increase? Or is a chance that it may not? Would it be based on whether the guest post gets its own backlinks and social shares?

Its own backlinks, yes. Social shares have nothing to do with PageRank, or SEO for that matter.

Makes sense. Thank you for your insight.

So unless my guest post itself gets its own backlinks, it wouldn't be of much value. However, I do notice that some new posts have very few backlinks with a high PA, (for example 5 Ways to Bring Attraction to an Intimate Relationship is a recent article with 3 backlinks and PA 40). Why is this? Is it because PA is quicker to increase because of the root domain DA regardless of the quality of the guest posts backlinks? Or is it because lifehack.org articles are more likely to get high quality backlinks (these 3 backlinks would have been from very high authority pages, resulting in PA 40)?

If a high PA post linked to an inner-page (blog post) on my website, would it only increase the PA of that specific page or would it increase my overall website's DA?

If I wanted my homepage to rank well in Google, my backlinks should point to the root domain? Pointing backlinks to my blog posts or other subpages will not benefit my homepage?

  • Once you email them you are able to try to ask them for many things:

    1. Free content in return for a linkback
    2. Paid post that they upload to their own website
    4. Obtaining a footer link in the website

Backlinks you will get these kind of sites really functions. They will raise the DA of your website. And that special page will remember to raise its page rank, after that it gone to make any impact on your own site. If site posting website has given you “ do follow links that are ” but this whole case will occur onlly in case.
