Ezine articles and backlinks

I submitted an article to Ezinearticles.com, and it was picked up by a couple of other blogs. Only problem is, they linked to the Ezine reference, rather than back to our site. How can I encourage people to link back my site, rather than just to Ezine.com? Isn't part of the point of article marketing to create backlinks?

Thanks!
Lila

Did you put YOUR links in the resource box of the article? If so, the publisher should have kept the resource intact when publishing to their site.

They "should" include the resource box but many people don't. It's not uncommon to find your articles out there without your resource box.

Many people will 'steal' articles and not even link back to anything .. I doubt you would be able to convince many people to link back the way you want them to, unless u can specifically find the website and contact the webmaster directly.

I would go to the contact section of the website and request a link, or remove the article.

If they've taken the article without keeping your resource links, if is content theft of sorts.

Contact them and ask for them to remove the article fully (since it's a breach of copyright) or to put the links back in.

If they refuse, and you feel it's a major issue, you can also contact their host and they will take action (by suspending the website) - but this is more of a 'bigger' solution to more of a 'bigger' problem.

Unfortunately this kind of thing happens sometimes. It's the nature of the beast as far as article marketing goes and can't really be avoided.

May be better to spend your time writing more articles to get more links though rather than spending time trying to chase up webmasters who aren't acting as they should.

Unless that page has a high pr, don't bother trying to get any link juice from them, it will be just a waste of time
