Google's Crackdown On 'Interstitial Ads' - How To Deal With This?
- SEO |
In this update, Google plans to penalize sites that have intrusive interstitials before loading site content, especially on mobile. This is done mainly to improve user experience.
This is of great concern to me, a vast majority of my income currently comes from 'Content.Ad' popups, you can see it here - Top 10 Most Common Phobias - Updated 2017 - Quick Top Tens
I have a couple of questions regarding this,
1) Do these rules apply only to mobile traffic? Or is it for desktop traffic as well?
2) Will it be alright if I can delay the popup until all the other page elements of the page have successfully loaded?
3) Can I make use of slide-in, in-line ad zones as an alternative to traditional popups?
4) What else can be done to survive this without losing my earnings?
Please do let me know what you think about this.
