Building back links from Twitter

First, let me be clear: I am not talking about twitter being the backlinks, I am talking about something completely different.

I opened a Twitter account that is very attractive. I have received more than 70 or so requests to follow.

These requests are mostly small companies within my niche. The ones I follow back are also very high quality. I don't bother with the lower quality Twits.

Here is my question: I leave Twitter, and go to the separate websites of these people and use them to build back links.

Is this a good strategy?

Thank you in advance.

Using twitter as a point of contact to get a link on their websites.. yes, this is a good strategy.

Yeah it's a good strategy. That's why you can get more or more traffic and follower.

Sure, but what legit business is going to allow anyone to build followed links on their site?

What type of businesses are you talking about?

The only business's I follow are ones that follow me first.

This is kinda what Google would call "link farming".. and is not such a good idea.. on a small scale you will get away with it.. but you scale somewhere past doing this say 20 times.. and flags start to fly.

I didn't ask who you follow. I asked what type of businesses are going to let you build followed links on their sites/pages?

This isn't Twitter, it's an SEO question.
