Hi Friends,

Recently when i was going through webmaster property for one of my clients website, under the links to website i saw a huge amount of backlinks (40000+). I dnt know how this backlinks are created, are they autogenerated? I dnt know what to cal - Spamindexing or web spamming or google bombing or spammy links. Another major thing is, my well ranked keywords gone down. Client website is not found in any SERP positions. So, I disavow the links with webmaster tools. But still those links are shown. How long it will take for webmasters to monitor these links and remove it

please do direct me

Thanks

It's tough to tell you anything about the links without seeing them.

You can disavow whatever you want. You will never know if Google disavows them or not. They don't tell you and they will still show up in Search Console.

According to Google, after the last Penguin update they are no longer punishing sites for spammy links, so it is unlikely that these links you are seeing are your ranking problem.

Yes Mike is right, You did disavow the links but its upon google now if they want to disavow them or not.
Best would be to keep calm for a while and keep sending social signals that will show search engine that your content is been shared.

      Not necessarily.

I have seen huge spikes in links like that from blog commenting. If it is a big site and they run one of those "recent comments" widgets, it can happen. If Google crawls the site at the right time, it sees the link on every page.

Same thing can happen with directories. Sometimes they run a "new listings" type of widget.

That's what I was thinking, site wide sidebar latest comments.

OP never said If it was 40K unique domains.

You can Disavow your links through webmaster tools https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main

That's the best advice or you can manually track down each link email webmaster etc.. but you're talking about months of work alternatively you could start over with a new domain but working with Google is typically the best method.

I would suggest first messaging/emailing the webmaster who is linking out to you like that.

Most likely, it is just a link farm designed to spam websites in order to get quick rankings. It could also be your competitor doing so in order to spam your site.

Anyway, Google appreciates it if you first make all the effort you can to get the links removed before filing for a disavow.

    Hope that helps.
