blog jumped back to #3 after update | need wordpress people

hey,
i had a wordpress blog ranking for my keyword on google at #2.
then after some weeks it disappeared and it wasn't just google dance because it didn't come back after month.
so yesterday i decided to post a quick update on the blog and when i check today, my blog is #3. crazy google, hope my site will stick there.
now i need some wordpress help:
i have a post for my main keyword and i want this post to be the one which is on the top of all other posts, even if there are newer ones.
so i went to "reading" and wanted to change which post to show, but i could only decide between two "pages".
is there another plugin or "trick" that i can stick my post on the top spot?
