Does that help? I grabbed up productname.info (the actual name) and productname as a channel name on youtube and posted videos, did blog posts to the new site. Key word rich and got zero traction with Google or Youtube. I want to know more about what Google and Youtube care about

Exact domain name match helps rank things faster but I have noticed in the long run a non-exact match at least in local search allows your reach to be farther because you're typically not targeting an exact city in the keyword but it all depends on the search you are targeting.

Stop abusing the Warrior Forum infractions.

Me telling anyone that EMDs aren't ranking pages is not an insult.

      Again, EMDs don't rank pages.

EMD (exact match domain) works very well a few years back.

But Google is smart enough not to give much weight to it nowadays.

If everything else are equal, EMD willl just give you a little push in ranking and is easier to remember. No more than that.

Choose a easy to remember and memorable name for domain name. If possible use .com , .org or .net as they are more common and easier for people to remember as well.

It helps, but not much... Your website content should be the one that's optimized.

I guess that exact match domain is Google's algo that was introduced few years back. This stated that domains that are acquired using exact keywords may not get place. Though I don't see Google using this policy. So if you find one that suits then you are the lucky one.
