premium vs free theme

curious on your thoughts on premium(paid themes) vs free themes. Specifically when it comes to building niche sites. I have created several successful niche site using free themes and was wondering was there any significant benefit to using a paid theme.

I am in the process of creating a third niche site and was considering forking over $30 for something nice but if there is no benefit then I would rather save the money

    There are many paid themes which have higher optimization capabilities, such as Genesis, Marketters Delight, etc. I think $30 for a paid theme is ok. Cheers.

    There are many paid theme which give very good look. but free theme is not too bad it will be customise by your self

    The only advantage of paid theme is you could get support easily and if the them is popular, it gets updated regularly with more features.

    Free themes usually don't come with service or support.

    If you are tech savvy and could solve most theme issues, a free theme could be a good idea.
