100 clicks per month for Adwords - give up?

I need some of you guys opinion about it.

I had several campaigns running under my Adword account....and I can say that I am not doing well so far.

With my affordable budgets, the maximum clicks that I can allowed are 100 clicks per month for my overall campaigns. That mean if I continue spending money for adword monthly for a year, the accumulate clicks would be around 1200++ clicks.

So the question is, should I just give up on Adword because it seems that 1200++ clicks for a year probably are just too slow/low to make a difference or results and wasting money or I should continue spending the 100 clicks budgets every months to establish a decent historical for my adword account?

I know that your keyword clicks will be cheaper if there are a lot of people clicking it...but will the 1200++ clicks make an overall difference later?

    Hi keivn2,

It's hard to say based on the little bit of information you have provided.

What is your EPC? If it only $0.05 then it's probably not worth your time, however if it's $20.00 Then it is definitely worth continuing.

Is it your own product or affiliate marketing? How many keywords are you testing? How large is the niche? Are you running ads in the Content Network? Often the branding alone can be very valuable in the content network.

How many different ads have you tested? Are you doing continuing keyword research? Are you testing and culling keywords? What kind of quality scores have you earned? Is there room for improving your QS?

Have you optimized you account structure? Have you tested different bidding strategies?

There is so much to learn and master in PPC marketing. I sense that you may have only scratched the surface of what is possible. You need to really get into it, hire a professional or get out.

What is the result of those 100 clicks? Are you making money off of those visitors (be it cpa, affiliate or what not) and is the money you make covers the adwords cost? If yes, then sure, continue to run it, why not since it's making you a profit (as long as you don't spend too much time to maintain it)

If it's not making you a profit, are you building an email list? How profitable/good/useful is that email list? Again, it might be worth it to keep this going if it's making you a profit (either right away, or down the line from the email list you build)

      It is an affiliate products.
My earning was around break-even at the best.
      I disabled my content network.
I only testing around 3 or 4 keywords for each campaigns
The niches that I into are around gravity 100+
      I tested 3 different ads
My QS always jumping from 7 to 10 and vice versa everyday. ( can't figured out why)

So I don't know that should I continue spending 100 clicks money per month or not due to my current situation. I would hate to waste my precious money if I still not getting the results I want but my friends told me if I keep continue running my adword, i might see some postive results soon.

        Hi keivn2,

When doing affiliate marketing you are competing with a lot of other marketers as well as the product developer all at the same time. The key is doing extensive keyword research and find those keywords that work well, but are being missed by your competitors. I typically will create thousands of ad groups each with a unique keyword and then cull the poor performers. You can't expect to go after a highly competitive niche and test only 3-4 keywords.

Once you have mastered the Search Network you should definitely test the content network. Setup separate campaigns for the content network and use lower bids. It takes a totally different strategy to master the content network.

Are you testing multiple ads within each and every ad group? The idea is to try two different ads and see which performs better. You keep the best ad and then try a new one that you think may be able to beat the current best. Repeat periodically to continue this optimization of ad text.

One of the challenges of affiliate marketing is discovering what your competitors are not doing that works well. This involves a lot of testing and you need to be able to it quickly and efficiently. You need to spy on your competitors using tools like Spyfu and KeywordSpy.

Once you have something that works you need to fully exploit it because your window of opportunity will be short. Your competitors will eventually discover what you are doing and copy you. You are also at the whim of the product developer's terms. It can be a grind where you move from one offer to another, sticking with it only while the opportunity remains profitable. The key is to establish an efficient and effective routine of building out optimized campaigns quickly and at a relatively low cost.

If your campaign is profitable, then you'll want to increase your budget.

If your campaign is losing money, don't budget for even 1 click per month!

dburk, I am appreciated for your long post but the main problems that I am facing now is that I don't have enough budget to run my campaigns for long time. The maximum clicks I can offer are 100 clicks per month..provided if every customers were clicking on my highest bid keyword.

This alone make me to think...Should I continue to spend my limited moneys on adword since 100 clicks (which my budget can only offered) per month seems to low or slow to make any suffienct test or different...but then, I don't really want to do other marketing method for now...
