Link Withdrawal from Link Networks

Hi all,

I'm using one of the Link Networks services that builds you a number of links every day, but they vanish if you quit. I find that the service is unreliable, the quality of links is very poor, and worse, I suspect Google is actually penalizing my sites for using them because there's a footprint.

However, I'm afraid to just quit. Some of my sites have 250 links from them - though they're not the only source of links, they do make up a respectable percentage.

Does anyone have advice as to what will happen if I were to suddenly quit the service and assume all links would vanish virtually instantly? I know it'll take time for the search engines to digest all the missing links, and I'll continue building links through other sources in the meanwhile.

But any guess what would happen/

Using these networks is such a bad habit, like smoking, but withdrawal scares me.

Thanks for any advice,
SnowCone

Put an alternate method in place first, and withdraw once you have an equal number of permanent links. You're right, even if the links vanish, the SE's won't notice for a while.

BTW I'd like to know which network. I didn't realise that there were such networks. I though if you got links they just stayed there.
