Paid Directories vs Free Directories

Hello,


I see quite a bit of information around that says that directories can be good to help your rankings but I am not finding any good information that is recent about whether you need to use just paid directories or free directories also.

Can someone tell me if I need to use both types of directories and maybe what the differences are other than the money factor? I am looking for SEO reasons mostly.

    Go for free ones which are not that spammed like Dmoz(very less chances of getting accpeted). Alltop and other related ones.

    Paid ones are also fine but its not worth the money in my opinion.

    I think most directories are a gigantic waste of time. They are either crap, hard to get into (dmoz) or are then respun to thousands of crappy directories (dmoz).

    I would focus time and effort on better link building strategy.

    Almost of every free directories are now useless, they're not a factor in SEO as they was many years ago. However you can do that with very carefully, choosing a quality one with high authority and in the same niche with your website will help you a bit but not much. IMO

    Go for free directories. Paid directories will affect by google algorithm.

    Directories are no more important these days as Google considers these sites as spam sites with very less content. It's better to go for other link building techniques to rank keywords higher in search engines and also generate traffic.

    now a days most directory have high spam score so it is better if you not submitting your link in directories.
