New to Adsense, have a basic question.

Hello,
I just setup my first website that's geared for adense. I do have a problem.

My Ads that are coming up, have nothing to do with the content on the website.

I'm running the website based of wordpress, I am using adsense manager to help with the placement.

Does it take google a while to "read" the page for correct ad's or is there something I have to do?

Thanks

  • Hi xDennis,

It can take a few days for AdSense to optimize your ads, just be patient. If they aren't significantly better after a few days, let us know and we'll help you deal with it.
  • try to put some related theme keyword in your meta keyword

    • Thanks,
I'll be patient and adjust the meta
  • Yeah just make sure you've got your keywords in the title of the page and the emta tags. I remember it taking a week for one of my sites to start sowing relevant ads.
  • Hello,
Okay I have my meta setup to my KW's however on the index page, the adsense ads that come up are about WP blogs, blogging, making money and that sort of thing. My website it about dogs. When I click on an individual post, then I see the right ad's about dogs. But opn the main page the ads are about blogging and wordpress. Could there be something built into the theme that is disturbing the adsense ads?

    • I read an article somewhere (i forgot the source ) that you could "attract" relevant ads by placing the ad block anywhere close to the targeted keyword in a certain post.

I'm sorry not being able to elaborate this approach right now, as I lost the source article. Will update when I found it. Or anyone here have knowledge about this?
