So I was thinking,

Why don't I just create a one page review website on a specific product that has high buyer intent. Would I be able to rank well in google's/yahoos search engine in order to get organic traffic from a simple one page content heavy website review a very specific product on amazon?

Thanks,

Gav

Not very likely, but at the very least that will depend on the amount of competition for the search phrases relevant to that product.

Why don't you try goggle-ing your intended keywords to get a feel for the level of competition that's already out there?

edit - don't we all wish it were that easy.

I think it would need to be a long tail keyword with an incredibly low amount of competition.

Otherwise with the amount of time and effort you'd have to invest, it's probably just easier to buy traffic instead of trying to make Google happy.. which is just a temporary fix anyway, until they decide to change the rules. Again.

  • I've found the best way to rank is to have a LARGE (50 page) website.. to be honest SEO is kinda dying in my opinion unless you're a local business. There's just too much competition online from big blogs and forums like this one that you have to choose super obscure long-tail keywords...

It would be easier to rank a Youtube Video #1 or a Blog instead of your own website.

I think it would need to be a long keyword and key phrase and key phrase with a really low volume of opponents.

Otherwise with the interval of determination you'd have to get, it's probably just simpler to buy visitors instead of trying to create Google pleased.. which is just a short-term fix anyway, until they choose to modify the rules.

You have to choose the keyword very carefully with low competition. You also need to do competition analysis. I think quality backlinks will be required too. Make a proper plan and proceed. Best of luck. Thanks :-)

One page site, ranks #1 for some decent traffic keywords.

      Wrong.
      Nice!

Can you give some tips on how you've done that with minimal content? I'm assuming backlinks?

I think it's very possible, it just depends on the product and how many top sites talk about it and link back to it. It's a lot easier to focus on things within your control anyways.

This likely won't work very well. IMO you can't even get away with this for paid google ads (maybe on yahoo)

Yes, you can. It's actually depends on quality, seo friendly, and overall the length of article must be greater than 2000 words.

It is not ideal to try and rank with 1 page, if you creating a site go through the trouble of make it an actual site.

There's a similar method called 'hijacking', where you get a domain for an upcoming product in advance and have a review and affiliate links. I'm not sure how effective this method would be in 2017 though.

If you have a one page site with only less than 300 words - hardly impossible to rank.
If you have a one page site with over 3000 words onward - that's a totally different story...

Why don't you try and rank it and see what happens.

it's possible but not easy. It all comes down to how the Google 'perceives' the value and authority of your domain and page.

I think it's impossible unless competition = zero. You can use ads to get more traffics

in my opinion in this case, you should create a niche site to promote amazon products, high or low level of competition depending on the keyword that you choose

There is nothing impossible on that planet, but it could be really difficult, especially if you are aiming at something really popular. But if you believe it you can try and see.

this is a really good topic. I think google ranks your page overall and if your site is only 1 page then it wouldn't rank very well. Hope that helps!

It comes highly recommended to have no less than 3 pages. Your Home Page, About Me/Company and Contact Me/Company pages. With Websites, you also want to populate your pages in excess of 2000 words, and include a window for comments. This will boost your Domain and Page Authority.
