I think article marketing does not work so much! You may not get expected results. And, forum marketing can be effective if you are going to target niche specific forums!

Apart from making your way, I also create facebook fanpage, twitter, linkedin, ... (social network). So not only made a name on its own website, but also on the track plays on those pages. From there you will also have more stable traffic volume.

All the above mentioned techniques are important & freely help in traffic generation.
