Hello guys,

I know the title sounds a little various, but I really need your help with my campaign. I'm going to write down the steps I follow to create a PPC campaign:

1. I pick up a product from the CB marketplace, let's suppose one of those "get ex back" products.
2. The first thing I create my own landing pages, with each page targeted to some keywords for example "get him back" "get her back"..etc..
3. Then I go to adwords kw tool and make a list of kw related to my landing page
4. Put them into adgroups of 20 or less kw

Now how much should I bid?

I know that most of cb product with a decent pre-sell have a conversion rate of 1/100. Let's suppose I earn $25 every sale, I should bid max $0.25.

The problem is that if I bid 0.25, my ads will be in position 7 - 8th in google results..because kws like "get him back" are very competitive and it's impossible to achieve a good ctr if my ad are on that position

The alternative is to find kw less competitive like "how can I get my ex back without call him"... But this way, the problem is that I will get not more than 1 click every day with these keywords, due to the low search volume.

Guys.. could you explain me where am I wrong and what should I do?

Thank you very much.

My friend you sound like you are on the right track but are you doing extensive keyword research?
If you have a small budget then it is virtually impossible to fight for the top place with those popular keywords.

I would suggest keyword research to find highly search long tail keywords and the best keyword research tool i have ever used is the micro niche finder 4.

This tool is truly amazing when it comes to finding keywords to fit your budget....

I would be happy to show you some training on this...

    Have a great day...

Thank you for taking time to answer this question.

Well, I think that each affiliate shouldn't spend more on AdWords than how much he is earning from his campaigns...so every affiliate has a "limited budget".

You mean that the only way to run a successful PPC campaign is to advertise just on long tail and higly searched keywords?

there is nothing wrong with being on position 7 or 8 it might take longer for you to get ctr high but who cares. It's not the position that get the clicks it's the ads. Besides if you can get your ads to pull at pos 8 then your cpc will go down and you will move up in position with a good quality score. Also your roi will be much better. I always start at .10 cents let the number work and be patient you have alot to learn why go broke while doing it?

Plus for me anyway, 4-6 pay better than 1-3 and if you want to learn a good system that came from the old Google cash method check Matt Levanhagan and the blast system.

    Thank you for your reply.

Do you really are able to achieve a good quality score with such a low bid? You must be very good at writing ad.

So I will start bidding slowly, between .10 - .13 cents every click, and aiming for the 8th position.

As far as keywords are concerned, do you suggest to use broad keyword (like "get him back" in the previous example) or using just long tailed kws ("get him back as soon as possible") ? Or maybe both?

    Thank you very much

I start with all three to begin and I always start with multiple adgroups very tightly grouped. I always start with any keyword that will give me at least a 7 quality score. Quality score is based on your site and the ads you write and very little on the cpc or ctr. Your sales will come from the ads you write and the sales ability of your website period. You can get all the click through s you want, the lowest cpc and the best quality score but if your site doesn't sell then your broke. with all the click through s you have and only 1 conversion I would start split testing your site or offer, or weeding out keywords. Also industry standard conversion is 2% I have some getting 3-5% conversion so 1% is low. I don't care what anyone says, ppc is a tough game and many people have many different techniques, some work some don't but the end result you want is conversions. Always start low, test everything and get rid of what is not working. Many Adgroups is the key to success.

You will need to bid higher and lose money when starting, and after getting descent positions and CTR you decrease your bids.

Also, prefer long term kws. they convert better and have less competition.

Improve, improve and improve... you really need to keep always improving your campaigns so that you can get conversion rates better than 1/100.

    Marketseeker,

I will start putting into practice what you just told me and I'll keep you updated. This was very helpful..thank you a lot.

Williamrs, on the last campaign I tried this strategy. The problem was that in the beginning my landing pages weren't converting well and while I was gradually split testing them I loose too much money..so I gave up.

Is this not happening to you?
