Out rank a forum post

by adams3 5 replies
Hi
As part of keyword research, I see a keyword with 35-40 KC (long tail pro metric), and at the first page (or even the #1-2 ranks) I'm seeing forum posts, will I be able to outrank them with a post on my blog?
the blog is new and doesn't have backlinks.

Thanks.

If forum posts are ranking then I am pretty sure that they have quite good backlinks. Because forum urls are not like blogs they are hard to rank. Yeah, you can outrank through your blog. Your blog just needs good backlinks. Check your competitors link profile what type of links they are getting and from which sources. Then try to build your link profile.

Yes, you can outrank that forum post. But, for this you need to put a lot of efforts.

Create engaging content, start discussions on the posts. Get some good backlinks.

If forum posts are ranking on the first page, most likely you would be able to outrank them.

First I would reverse engineer its backlink profile to see what major factors are ranking them.

    Then check their content.

Your strategy is to outperform the forum posts by your BETTER content and MORE & BETTER BACKLINKS, especially from sites Google trust.

    Hope this helps.
