Google evaluates your page according to your content and how many quality links are linked to it. They are not going to index just any page.

    So, check those first.

It's a big internet. Why should Google index your page before any of the other billions of new pages that were created in the past week? In other words, you are insignificant and nothing special. Get in line.

Backlinks have nothing at all to do with the indexing of your site. They affect the ranking of your site. Are you sure that you are not indexed, or, are you concerned that you cannot find the site anywhere in the search listings (which is not the same as not being indexed)?

Of course, as Mike suggested, Google does not index everything. Are you sure it is worthy of being indexed? Hopefully, its pages are written better than your question was.

      That's not what I meant. I wasn't very clear.

What I meant was they cannot crawl everything instantly. There are billions of new pages created every week. They'll get to his site when they get to it.

So, you believe that Google indexes every single page ever created by anyone? You know that isn't true.

I suspect the real misunderstanding here is the difference between indexing and ranking.

No. That just wasn't the point I was trying to make.

Most of the time when people come here complaining about their site not being indexed, they just created it 5 days ago and don't understand why Google didn't index it in the first 3 hours.

Actually, most of the time it is indexed. It just is not ranking, and that is what they mean.

Second most occurrence is what I mentioned though. It just doesn't happen overnight. Google has a lot of pages to crawl before they get to your little insignificant site.
