Hi everybody,

I have a 2 weeks old website. I created some backlinks for it and did some bookmarks to get it indexed faster. NOw when I search my URL in google a lot of sites appear that contain the keyword of the domain in their website content and in the middle of page 2 there is a notification which says:

Similar:
www(.)mydomain(.)com

What is it? Does it mean it hat my site is indexed ?

Thanks in advance
#indexed

    Just do:

    site:www.mydomain.com

    or

    site:mydomain.com

In Google. If results come up, your site is indexed.

Exactly this. I'd also like to add, if you haven't yet, you should add Google Analytics to your page. It will tell you a LOT about your website's visitors, when you start getting some. It's easy, and just requires a Gmail account to set it up!

I agree. Sidte:mydomain.com will work great. Get analytics and keep building links. You can use a free tool like backlinkwatch.com to monitor your progress in growing links. If you have specific pages within your domain that you want to help promote, Google will eventually find them, but it doesn't hurt to throw some backlinks at the other pages within your site.

The easiest way to see if your site is indexed is search for:

    site:mydomain.com

Edit: ok, TristanPerry can type faster than me

but to really know what's happening, you better use google webmaster tools and be in full control. PM me if you need more info on that.

analytics does not actually give you the details about being accesed, index, crawled etc. Google analytics is the tool to monitor traffic but if you having indexing problems or if there are any other issues with your site, you SHOULD use google webmaster tools.
