Site listings titles are not indexing.

Hello, after many years years here on warrior probably my first post over here in the SEO dept.

I ask kindly if anybody can shed some light on a problem I am currently having and appreciate any advice that you are able to give that may help me resolve this problem.

As a precursor, I have a classified script / website (as in my profile) that was working very very well, where when ever I loaded a new listing within a short period of time I had that listing title for the most part banging on giggles front door.

I am no SEO wonder person but just bashed away and tried to learn and improve where I went and life was good on the giggle home front.

Recently there was a new version of the script, so I decided to keep up with the pack and update, the end result that update to thee new version was short of a mess and my best outcome to move to the new version was to just dump and re load the new version and rebuild from scratch.

Given that I wanted to take a slightly new direction, I opted to to that, (this was around Christmas), but with life being busy I have now just recently taken back to re loading things up.

It was just this week in my haste that I noticed barley none if any site listing titles were being indexed by giggle (from my past as above I knew what I should be seeing).

Trying to find out why this is happening I found my xml file was full of about 150 - 200 unrelated and unused categories (that were sitting there inactive due to the upgrade) it had a rang of unrelated test tag items in it and had many of the sites pages either being indexed by giggle that should not have been, and some that should have been but were not.

I have now rebuilt the xml file so it is clean and clear of any unwanted categories and or pages and rubbish.

And that's where I am at, but for now at least I am at a loss as to why my site listing titles are failing to index (which is why I am asking here)

Would have the dodgy xml feeding giggle for a few months empty unrelated rubbish caused giggle to maybe look the other way?, will it now start to recover or is there another problem on the site that I am unaware of ?

Appreciate and am open to the help and advice form people here on these thoughts.

Regards
Pete

I am not sure I understand what you are saying, are you saying that your pages are being indexed, but the page title is not showing up on the google listings for those pages?

Hello stanton, sorry for the confusion, when a listing is created it in effects creates a page with the listing title as its name, so no page / and or title is being indexed.

working with g webmasters now to see if I can refine the problem
