My website had gone down for about 2 months and I finally got it back up and running, but now I am not on the 3rd page anymore and looking to get back into this so I can get back to where I was and even page 1, I have ALOT of backlinks but was wondering because my website was down for a few months as that messed up my backlinks that I already have on there? What can I do? I cant seem to get in touch with the guy that did it so need help with what I need to do

You didn't drop from page #3 on the SERPs because you stopped doing SEO. Either the links are good or they're not.

No offense but page #3 isn't a big deal.

3rd page may not be a big deal to you but to many it is.......

So I had no problems with ranking until my site went down and when I get it back up I am not there anymore...Why is this?

You say it is the links? They are BAD?

    why now and not before?

Could it be that my site was converted from html to wordpress that caused an issue maybe the settings?

When you converted the site to Wordpress, did you bother to redirect all the old url's the the new ones?

If you did not, you lost all the SEO effort you put into your site (because all the links point to the old urls.

html sites have urls like this:
      domain-name.com/keyword.htm
      domain-name.com/keyword.php
      etc.

      wordpress are like this
      domain-name.com/keyword

Do a 301 redirect from all the old pages to your new pages: it should improve things.

By the way, if being on page 3 after you paid an SEO expert you're either a masochist or clueless or, most likely, both.

Being on page 3 for keywords with lots of searches gets you next to nothing when it comes to traffic, therefore, when it comes to making money.

Lemme put it in a kinder way: it's like being happy about your tapas dinner being ready because you got the pan on the stove.

Seo is great but if you dont have great content your site will drop. All google wants is to see how many people are reading your articles. Here are 3 things that worked for me.
    1. Long-tailed keywords
    2. Great Content
    3. 2-3 articles a month

    And Submit your site everywhere!
You do this your site will be page 1

This is all i do for my blogs and the backlinks comes organic
    Good Luck

My understanding is that Google does not look kindly on sites that go down. They do not want to list a site in their results that is not functional, as that is not good for user experience, and that is what Google seems to be most interested in.

Because your site was down so long, it may take quite awhile for Google to trust your site again. New backlinks should help, and be sure to get those new backlinks indexed so Google notices them.

I know that in the past I got someone to do SEO for me,and I did go to the first page after 4 weeks, where I had been for about 6 weeks.
But the work was an overnight thing...I had to get some time learning SEO myself.
He had gotten a bunch of edu links..they helped but the links were not set up very well.
But all in all, when I started doing blog posts, articles etc that helped out after a month or so.

  • You will have to check your SEO process again as your website was down. Google give authority and ranking after looking into different factor and this one from them.

Build your SEO strategy again. It is easy to get ranked for a few keywords by just doing Onpage SEO.

Also, get some really good, high quality backlinks related to your field.
    That would help loads.
Write a bunch of quality articles as well..no fiverr stuff...
I would start out with a good article 3 times a week and share them everywhere..
