I've got three sites that were on page 1 of G last few weeks and top earners with xfactor method. Woke up this morning and ran rankchecker to find all 3 sites gone from the serps. Sites still resolve with "info:domainname" as indexed though.

Any ideas what's happening with these sites? Conversions were out of the box last few days...

I think Google is having a mess about, just wait a while and chill you will probably re-appear in a few hours or maybe days.

I agree with dddougal - as long as you've not done anything seriously punishable by Googles standards then it's likely to just be Google tinkering.

Google sucks, don't depend on them. Or update your content.

lol, enjoy the dance. This is nothing unexpected. I've got sites disappearing for 3 weeks and then reappearing at a moments notice in the top 10 again. Oh, and this just doesn't happen to the little guys either. I sat in on a high level call with a SEM/SEO corporation talking to a tier one google client..let's just say that Google has the capability to tweek their index listings if its brought to their attention. Money goes a loooong way

I read something recently(think it was on SEO Book, but can't be sure) that said there is a lot of movement and dancing in Google in the latter part of each month. Maybe this is the case here. Don't fret though, I'm sure you'll be back where you belong soon

Thanks for all the encouraging feedback guys. It sounds like you probably have been through this a time or two and can relate. Very sick feeling to be at the bottom of the rollercoaster after feeling the wind of the downhill run :-)

One thing that puzzles me and is perhaps too obvious to be a coincidence is that all of these sites were experiencing some incredible C T R over the past few days. I was tweaking a new template that had done incredibly well on a low traffic site. Well the experiment was successful and one of my sites had 33% conversions yesterday. The fact that these were the only three sites in the money yesterday and now they are all apparently off the ranch in terms of SERPS seems odd...

I will sit tight though. I do appreciate the encouragement. It really helps to pick up the spirits after an unexpected hard punch to the gut like that...

Nothing to do now but put on some Brett Dennen and chill...

There are 2 things I try to tell all newcomers to the game of getting
      free search engine traffic:

      1) New sites take a while to mature. Sometimes they rank right out
of the gate, other times it may take weeks or months before they
      settle in a sweet spot.

      2) Nothing is permanent. Your sites will move up, down, go away
totally, then come back, settle in that sweet spot, then do it all
      over again.

Google is like an ocean, you can enjoy it but you can't control it.

      - John

My site is got "danced" since Sept 10 and it's still not back. I am focusing on other projects so hopefully, it will be back by month's end.
