Site deindexed - is this a cause of concern?

Hello World. A site that I put up around a week ago using John's (XFactor's) method was indexed and ranked at number 5 within 24 hours of building it (and it got me one Adsense click). But afterwards, the home page was removed from the index and now just recently the whole site is now gone. I have NOT done anything wrong with this and of course I avoided showing my site to anyone. Should I worry about this? And do I need to resubmit my sitemap or something?

  • If you got something indexed and de-indexed with 24 hours you must have done something very bad. I want to know what it is, so I can figure out a way of getting away with it.
  • You should be worried. SE's will usually not remove a site from the index unless it has a noindex, nofollow meta tag or something. If it suddenly disappeared, you can contact Google, etc using webmaster tools and ask for reinclusion.

    • Not true.. this is very standard. Sites are often indexed, ranked, and then disappear for several days or even a couple weeks before appearing again.

  • I have had multiple sites indexed and then deindexed shortly after. I just kept on building links and they reappeared in the SERPS at a similar position.

BTW when I say deindexed, I mean completely removed from the SERPS even when I type in my domain in brackets.

You should be fine, anyways it is too early to worry.
  • Well, here is the thing: I built the site, submitted the RSS feeds, it's indexed and ranked at #5, got an adsense click. Didn't touch it ever since and built links to it using GoArticles. I hope it's just temporary, we'll see what happens.

  • Well, here's something percuilar - pages from my site are back in the index now. But the thing is, it is all my subpages and not my home page this time. Is there a problem here?
  • I experienced the same thing with several of my articles. I couldn't figure out why my articles would suddenly disappear after hitting the front page of Google within hours. That sucked! But I noticed they reappeared in several weeks.
  • Has happened to me quite often.

In fact, it happened to one my sites a few weeks ago. About 4-5 days later it came back. A few weeks later it was top of the SERPs for its low-hanging fruit keyword.

It's just the Google Dance, don't worry about it.

(Unless you were using black hat techniques, which I doubt since you'd then know/expect your site to be deindexed)

    • Black hat is trash, no way I'd use that. But yeah, did you mean your homepage disappeared from the SERPs (with your other pages still indexed) then it (the homepage) came back?

  • i think you must used black hat method to index your website that's why your website indexed soon and disappear permamently
  • It's absolutely normal for a new site to go in and out of the index; it takes time to stabilize. Probably because of the way googles servers are setup.

Although I can only speculate on the exact cause, I will say that this has happened to every single new site I've ever made, and they were all back a few days to a week later.
  • I just experienced this with one of my new sites this week too. Main page disappeared completely for a few days after being on page one for about three weeks, and then was re-indexed and returned after about three days later. I would wait a week or two before getting too worried. You may, however, want to also try updating your blog (if it is a blog) to make sure the main page wasn't deindexed due to a duplicate content issue with one of your post pages.
  • I guess what most people are talking about is not "de-indexed" but "moved way down the serps". It makes all the difference.

    • Nope, I mean de-indexed.

As in, site:www .example.org and site:example.org show nothing at all up
  • google dances and it happened a lot to me before, actually a couple of times but it got back soon, so if you haven't used any kind of blackhat tactics then no need to worry about it, it will definitely come.

by the way what's John's (XFactor's) method? never heard of this one before.
