Is Directory Submission a continuous process?

I wonder whether directory submission is a continual process because i have never seen a change in ranking even if submit my website for nearly 2000 directories that has PR from 1 to 9..
Please let me know whether directory submission is a continuous process..

  • For change in your website rankings, you will need to submit plenty of articles to article directories. According to EZA owner: 250+
    Search engines take a lot of time to recognize backlinks.
  • Directory Submission is not a only process to boost up your website ranking. Directory backlinks will take time to approve as well as for crawling. Do other link building and promotions strategies also like Social Bookmarking promotions, article submission, forum submission etc...

    • Well, its not compulsory to submit website continuously to the web directories. In terms of traffic it not even drives 1% of traffic. But, some directories provides a dofollow link, so atleast for backlinks you should submit to the directories.
