To find a niche...... first think of something that interests you enough to actually know something about it, then search youtube for vids about that stuff to see what you're competing against, taking notes while you're at it to come up with ways you can make a better video.

To nudge up the chances of the vid getting looked at, it's mostly a matter of getting the basics right
1) Video topic... some things seem to attract more interest than others, such as: Quadcopters, Pranks, Pranks gone wrong, accidents, unboxing, food vids, cats and other pets doing weird things, etc.
