Very few backlinks to homepage is that ok?

Hello there!!
I've got a domain from a microniche and reviewing the SEO made it, I noticed that only about 6 domains from 82 (total reffering domains) are pointing to the homepage.
The Homepage is not important at all to rank for, but, could be very valuable if a make more linbuilding to the homepage or is not important at all? i think that could strenght all the urls in the domain :-\ even with nofollow links in comments from relevant sources.
What are your thoughts?
