Now after 20 years you know how to tide up shoelaces, all is left for you is SEO

It's hard to believe that after 15 years of overwhelming amount of information
people still has been asking about stuff offered in every thread in this SEO forum.

      Hi fastreplies,

I think you missed the point.

These type of thread starters are meant to be easy to answer (repetitive) questions to be used as a placeholder for forum spam. Forum spammers need to cloak their spam to appear almost like useful forum posts. Of course they are not really useful, they are mostly just the exact same repetitive Q&A posted over-and-over in a forum spamming campaign.

The idea is similar to comment spam that has virtually killed comments on blog posts. Now the spammers are finding forum spam to be something relatively easy to get posted and less likely to be deleted if they use this fake Q&A posting format. It allows them to get their spam payload into the replies with minimal effort.

You probably mistook this thread for a real thread started by a real person with a genuine question. Those still exist, but we have to sort through all these bogus (useless) threads posted by forum spammers to find genuine discussions, which are becoming fewer and further between the bogus spammer threads.

If so, they are as dumb as they are illiterate. What is the value of a non-followed link on a forum?

          Hi Dave,

I would say about the same value as our own signatures, perhaps a little less.

Perhaps it isn't about SEO value?

Not all promotional activity is done for SEO, for example Google gets $20 billion a year for their non-followed links, so I'd say there is some value to the spammers here as well.

These are really just placeholder threads for the advertisements that get piled on in the canned replies that follow the fake starter posting. A forum like this, used to get a lot of "eyeballs", as they say in the advertising business, not so much these days due in part to all these forum spam placeholder threads.
