few methods I know are
Blog commenting
Directory submisson
Article submisson
video submisson
Press release
Social book marking
Guest blogging
Pls suggest if any of the above mention method is useful for getting quality backlinks.

Also suggest other methods for getting useful quality backlinks.

All above you mentioned are quite good, but more important to activity very carefully, with fresh content, well targeted keywords, check keyword density level, submit on authority site, careful about do-follow and no-follow tags....

Well, there are hundreds of ways to do that. However, I believe the below mentioned give good backlinking.

guest posts,
forum posting,
quora, yahoo q&a,
topic specific blog commenting (should be detailed, interactive and informative)
ppt sharing and
video submission.

All above mentioned methods are good. But, don't forget to update fresh or unique content to your website as well and share on high PR social media sites. Do infographics submissions, forums posting, PPT submissions and one of the best method is video submission (add content in video with target keywords)

Best way to generate backlinks, usually focus on, on-site and off-site structured data plan, find relevant targeted keywords, compare with competitor, write golden content, keep further involvement in submissions.

When building your backlink profile, consider a wide variety of the sources specified above.
Cause if the majority of your backlinks are from the same source, you may be penalized by Penguin.
As well, if most of your backlinks come from the same C-blocks, it can be viewed as spam.
