  • Yeah. This is old news. The last update was in 2013.

  • They stopped updating it so long ago, we almost forgot that it was even ever a metric.

We try to get links from websites that rank high for phrases that are related to our products (but not competitors, obviously). If they rank high, they probably have some pretty decent authority.

Just as important, we only try to get links from websites that are somewhat related to ours. A link to a baby clothing site from a porn or gambling website probably IS NOT going to help. A link from a "welcome to motherhood" or "caring for your infant" type of blog would be much better.

If you start thinking about links as traffic, you'll be going down the right path. If another website has a lot of readers and those readers are the type who would be interested in your products, THAT is the type of site you want backlinks from. Not only will it bring you more and better traffic, but the fact that they have that much traffic probably means they've got a decent amount of authority built up.

  • Yes, it has been stopped already by Google. So, we only have to base our site with the DA instead of PR.
  • It's old news,
Today, most of the webmasters use DA and PA or TF and CF to determine the SEO quality of the websites.
