SEO Silo structure without categories

by Gicspy 1 replies
Hey guys,

I have a niche website with around 10 pages with very strong content. It brings value and rank very well on different target keywords for most of the pages. I only have 2 levels of pages from the HP. But I noticed that a couple of them don't rank and are in situation of cannibalization.

I want to structure the all content better with silo structure but I wd prefere to avoid changing the structure urls to avoid any serp impact in short terms.

> My question : is it possible to optimize towards a new silo structure without using /categories and /subcategories in the slug ?

* Instead of that :
example.com/topic1/article-a
example.com/topic1/article-b
example.com/topic2/article-c
example.com/topic2/article-d

* Having that :
example.com/article-a
example.com/article-b
example.com/article-c
example.com/article-d

Any thoughts ?

Thanks for your help

    The URLs are not what makes something a silo or not. You can use either URL structure. What really matters for a silo is the internal link structure.
