Hi everyone,

I am new to Internet Marketing, and currently I am still on my very first stage which is niche researching. However, when I come to "Keyword Research", I really stuck, because I don't know which keywords really the keyword I should use and how should I use it properly. Should I need to include all the keywords in the mega tag in my webpage or should I need to do each one on one page?!

I am starting out as affiliate, and could anyone please kindly give me some advice on this?

Thanks!

  • i am also interested in knowing answer of this question because i am also a new to internet marketing...and learning seo.
  • After you finished targeting your niche, then its time to have your keywords ready. There are tools you can use to help you in getting the right keywords for your site. Some are free and some are not but, i prefer using the paid ones cause they produces much better results.
  • I am looking into 3 keywords tool include Micro Niche, Market Samurai and Keywords Elite which people are more focusing on these 3. However, I have checked out their tutorial and it seems kinda complicated to a new internet marketer like me! haha any advice?
  • keywords in the mega tag in my webpage => That is very old does not work or effect any ranking in search engines.

should I need to do each one on one page? => On your homepage the first 400 words need to have your keywords you target but make it 2% of your content. Write more for the readers.

Make sure your Titles stand out and have your keywords in.

All the best and shout if you need help.
  • Many thanks!
I am searching on my topics and now trying to pull in all the keywords.

Will try to write more cool info on the topic and will take your advice on the keywords!

    Thanks!
  • Key words thats very tricky especially for newbies,if you are getting into PPC it gets even trickier, when starting i recommend investing in ready made review sites because they are already optimized for the keywords you are targeting.
As you get more familiar with keyword research them you can start investing in keyword tools.
  • I agree that paid tools can be more efficient. However, if you are newbie there are two considerations:
    1) free tools save you money when you don't want to spend it
    2) by doing things the hard way you learn a lot more, then you can use slick tools

I started a thread about niche marketing. Steps 2 and 3 are about keywords. I think it may answer some of your questions:

  • Thanks guys for the advices!

True that as a newbie, I really don't have much $$ to invest in those tools as they are so many out there and kinda expensive.

I am not going to start PPC for now, because I think I could hardly to afford to pay the advertisement, as I heard many people spend lots of money in there but didn't have a good return. Guess I need to start something small, but I am still at the "planning" stage, as there are tons of info I need to learn!!

Thanks Peter for your great ebook!
  • Keyword research is a must to understand when you start off.

When i was in my 1st month of IM, i did the wrong keyword research and end up with close to 0 traffic for keywords i think are "golden"

Literally waste 1 whole month of my time to do that... and the site is earning me $0.50 monthly..

invest in a program foryour keyword research, save a lot of time!

    • I would recommend downloading Market Samurai (MS) and working with it during the trial period. Thge keyword research module im MS is free so it will stay working and you will be able to keep all the research you have done.

Once you have undertood what data MS is giving you, you should find it really easy. Also, check out the 30 day challenge videos for day 2-4 I think. They provide an excellent way of explaining keyword research and how to use MS.
  • Thanks guys!!

All your info is so valuable, and great to have all you guys for my start!!!

    I have another question:
Do I have to register one domain for each niche I picked?

If this is the case, at the end, I might have like many domains to manage? Is this a normal way for IM in adsenes?
  • yes, 1 niche a site preferably. I make a terrible mistake of gathering several niches when i started out into my blog and that got me pathetic pennies per click.

From there, i have opened another 2 sites and currently working on them. At least i could see at least 10cents per click now~

basically, the more sites you have, the more money you earn. that the basic logic.

From those sites, focus on the ones that are earning you money are develop them.

but, do not open more sites than you can handle. I discovered several niches and registered the sites, got me panting in setting them up and had a loss of direction. Which was almost a giveup phrase for me.

Now i focus on 2 sites and pretty happy working on them
  • Great, that's sound great!!

I guess I will focus on one site as a start, as I am still in "learning process".

People seem find their niche and keywords so easily, but I am still kinda stuck in this part, but thanks for valuable info from all of you!! I am keep on trying!!!
  • you can target 2- 3 keywords per page but targeting 1 keyword per page is always beneficial. also check google keywords suggestion tool
  • just want to double confirm that if putting 1 keyword per page, I need to add in some "long tail" keywords together, am I correct?
