SEO -- With High Search & High Competition Keywords

I am selling virgin hair, which comes up in search results over 3 million...other names are, remy hair, brazilian hair, peruvian hair, hair extensions etc..all very high in search and competition. My content title, body content and meta tags all have these keywords in them.... But if these words and all other keywords associated with my product are high search and high competition should I use these keywords? I checked my competition they are using the same high competition keywords.

So then I say should I use long tail keywords? I tried straight brazilian hair or curly brazilian hair..over 4 million search high competition....straight virgin hair...black virgin hair... my long tail keywords all still have high competition and search..

My question is what do I do so that I have a chance in a high saturated market? Examples of searched keywords with instruction would be appreciated so I can get an idea.

    Yes those keywords have huge amount of results on Search engine but some of them are easy as per Kwfinder.
    Try to build a good article which would be rich of long tail keywords as they tend to rank faster than main keyword.

              Thank you for telling me..I am a newbie. Im a little confused, because you have to search keywords that are not high competition to add to your content to help with SEO.... What do I have to do to get on 1st couple pages of Google. I thought it was search keywords add keywords that aren't high in competition to content, back links etc

                No it doesn't.

                The competition level reported in Google Keyword Planner is the competition among AdWords advertisers. That's it. It has nothing to do with SEO.

                The search volume can be useful, but it is just an estimate and many times is wrong.

    The keyword is really an important issue if you want to rank on Google and get enough organic traffic.
    High searches keywords are always highly competitive. You can not easily rank on search engines if you use high competitive keywords. If your competitors are really strong, they have high domain authority then you can not rank easily.
    You have to build a lot of high-quality backlinks if you want to beat strong competitors.
    But if the competitors are not very much strong they are same to you. Then you can use these keywords, you can easily rank high with low competitive, high search keywords.
    Here you have to take your own decision.
    I suggest low competitive high volume keywords or low competitive low volume keywords those are long tail.
    If you select such keywords that you can not rank then you will not get any benefits from your article.'
    So here competition is a big issue.
