Hello again World. While continuously monitoring my two Adsense sites I have noticed that they have been moving down in the SERPs lately. Ezine just recently accepted some of my articles (score!) when I noticed this change. Could this be it or is it something else, like the Google Dance?

Google have in essence 3 search engines www1,www2 and www3 all have their own unique spiders or crawlers. In the final third of the month google collects the data from all three engines and starts updating the data, thats when the google dance starts.

hey, there, the name "Google Dance" is often used to describe the index update of the Google search engine. Google's index update occurs on average once per month.

It can be identified by significant movement in search results and especially by Google's cache of all indexed pages reflecting the status of Google's last spidering.

But the update does not proceed as a switch from one index to another at one point in time.

In fact, it takes several days to complete the index update. During this period, the old and the new index alternate on google.

At an early stage, the results from the new index occur sporadically. But later on, they appear more frequently. Google dances.

Well, should I be worried about my sites moving down in the SERPs? I know they aren't quite a month old just yet but if they keep moving down it means less exposure.

Should more backlinks help too? I'm still not sure if Google has noticed them.

    sure it will ..
you are talking about SERPs not the pagerank
may be other competitors got some hard work and being good to get higher indexing rank .
or may be your website lost some of its backlinks .
i believe if you got some hard work to get quality backlinks you will got better and higher SERPs ,
